Home Inspection Continuing Ed. ‘Inspecting Means of Egress’
January 14 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm$114.00
Inspecting Means of Egress
“Means of egress” is reference to all ways by which an occupant can exit a building, or rescue personnel can enter.
Means of egress that we will discuss include doors, windows, stairs, halls, balconies, decks, porches, garages and “common space”.
We will also look at these same routes of egress as they apply to the multi-unit property.
There are special considerations to observe when more than one dwelling unit occupies the premises.
Additionally, when areas of the property serve as “common areas”, as would be seen in off campus housing or rental properties, there are still other items of concern.
